Trish
Stratus, is a Canadian fitness model and former professional
wrestler. Formerly working for World Wrestling Entertainment, Trish
Stratus retired from professional wrestling on September 17, 2006 after
winning her seventh Women's Championship.
Trish Stratus is marketed as the first woman in WWE history to have held
the WWE Women's Championship seven times, three more than the four title
reigns of The Fabulous Moolah and Lita recognized by WWE. Trish Stratus
is also one of only four women to have held the WWE Hardcore
Championship.

While coveted and promoted
for Trish Stratus's appearance and sex appeal, few realize how
cerebral a young woman Trish Stratus is as well. What other wrestling
honey would cite Brave New World as her favorite book? Believe it or
not, Trish Stratus studied biology and kinesiology at York University in
Toronto with the goal of one day entering medical school.
During this time Trish Stratus became interested more and more in weight
training and fitness, and developed a particular fascination for comic
book sirens and muscle magazine vixens. In her mind, the determined
Trish Stratus knew that with the right mental approach and discipline,
Trish Stratus too could have what she termed the "ideal comic [strip]
body."
Harnessing Trish Stratus's
gymnastic training and her knowledge of bodybuilding, Trish Stratus
began working out six days a week and followed a strict diet. Trish
Stratus found employment as a receptionist at a health club and was
discovered soon thereafter.
Embarking on a career as a fitness model, Trish Stratus was gracing the
cover of popular magazines in a short period of time. The opportunities
to model and subsequent demands on Trish Stratus's time accelerated at a
rapid pace and Trish Stratus decided to leave university when a staff
strike canceled class. It would not be long before the WWE would call.
Trish Stratus made her debut in March of 2000. Trish Stratus has since
been marketed as a scheming siren not above using her feminine charm to
achieve her goals. While Trish Stratus began as a manager for the tag
team of Test and Albert -- T & A -- Trish Stratus has since become a
ring regular, matching up against other WWE female stars such as Lita
and Molly Holly.
In another indication that Trish Stratus is more than just a stunning
physical specimen, Trish Stratus was named co-host of WWE Excess, airing
every Saturday on TNN. |
